Sarah Miles
Sarah Miles was born in Essex, England. Both her parents are engineers, but one of her brother works as a director and screenwriter. Miles suffered from stuttering and dyslexia when she was a child, and could not speak until she was nine years old, for this reason, she was once expelled by three schools. As a teenager, she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
After graduation, Miles worked as an actor, her first film was Term of Trial, in which she played a “husky wide-eyed nymphet”. and Miles was nominated for the BAFTA Best Newcomer Award for this character. After that, Miles starred in The Servant, Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, Blowuo, Ryan’s Daughter, The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea and so on, among this films, the performance in Ryan’s Daughter won her a nomination of The Academy Awards.
