LORETTA SWIT

Loretta Swit rose to stardom for portraying character roles. She is best known for her character as Major Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan on M*A*S*H, which also earned her two Emmy Awards. Her first TV credit was Hawaii Five-O, followed by Gunsmoke, Mission: Impossible, and Mannix. Since the 1990s, she has been touring in a variety of theaters in the single-player play Shirley Valentine, which was directed by Willy Russell, until the 2010s.

Aside from acting, she also showed her other talent when she wrote a book on needlepoint, titled A Needlepoint Scrapbook, where she revealed that they were Ms Pac-Man fanatics in their house. Swit also has a golden heart, showing her support to the efforts of R Adams Cowley, who found the shock trauma unit at the University of Maryland, in the 1980s. It was the first of its kind in the United States at the time.
