Coming from a family of actors and actress, Hayley Mills was dubbed to be a promising newcomer when she started her acting career at a young age. She even won a BAFTA Award for Most Promising Newcomer for her performance in the 1959 classic crime drama Tiger Bay. She also got the Academy Juvenile Award for Pollyanna (1960) and eventually the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year – Actress in 1961.

She evidently had a good start, appearing in six Walt Disney films. She even had a dual role in one movie, The Parent Trap (1961). To top all her credits and recognitions, she was nominated for BAFTA Award for Best British Actress for her performance for the adaptation of her mother’s novel Whistle Down the Wind (1961). Other film works of Hayley Mills include: In Search of the Castaways, Summer Magic, The Chalk Garden, That Darn Cat!, West Wild Duck, etc.
