Jeri Ryan is a graduate of Northwestern University’s drama major. After graduating in 1990, she was engaged in full-time acting in Los Angeles. Before that, she had participated in beauty contests. Ryan was selected as Miss Illinois in 1989. In 1990, she participated in the Miss America contest and won the third place. Ryan’s famous role is to play Seven of Nine in Star Trek: Voyager. She was nominated for the Saturn Award four times for this role and won the award in 2001.

After Voyager ended, Ryan joined Boston Public to play the role of Veronica “Ronnie” Cooke, who is a high school teacher after being a lawyer. This character was written specifically for her by producer David E. Kelley. After shooting the movies Down with Love and Men Cry Bullets, Ryan ushered in his first movie protagonist-Sarah in The Last Man.
