Growing up, Brooke Shields learned ballet, piano, and horse riding. Having a model and actress as a mom, she also started young in the same industry. She was nearly one year old when she appeared in a commercial for Ivory Soap. She carved her path as a child model and actress until she landed a role in the 1978 film Pretty Baby— a role that garnered her wide acclaim.

The following years brought much luck to her career as she became the youngest model to appear on the Vogue cover at the tender age of 14. Her teenage years culminated in her starring roles in The Blue Lagoon and Endless Love. She took a break in the early ’80s to pursue her education and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Romance Languages. Shields eventually returned to acting, and as of date, she continues to receive film and TV work.
