Chuck D is the leader of the rap group Public Enemy, which he also co-founded with Flavor Flav in 1985. The star was behind the social hip hop music in the mid-1980s. He even gets the credits for being ranked No.12 on the Top 50 Hip-Hop Lyricists of All Time list by The Source.

Outside of the music career, Chuck D released his autobiography Autobiography of Mistachuck in 1996. In 1999, he set up a multi-format “supersite” on the website Rapstation.com, which provided a place to share a lot of content online, including modules such as celebrity interview, free MP3 downloads, social commentary, etc. Since then, Chuck D has been working for online peer-to-peer file sharing in music industry. In 2011, he re-recorded a cover of Fight the Power with The Dillinger Escape Plan. In 2016, D joined Prophets of Rage with B-Real and former members of Rage Against the Machine.
