Monique Angela Hicks or professionally known as Mo’Nique initially got herself in minor TV and movie roles. She also worked as a standup comedian in various venues. Good thing, she hit the jackpot as one of the excellent performers in The Queens of Comedy and the sitcom The Parkers. Mo’Nique also appeared in the films like The Parkers, Phat Girlz, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, etc.

After that, her lawyers and managers got a couple of supporting roles, including the one in Precious, where she earned the Sundance Film Festival’s Special Jury Prize and the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. In 2015, she starred in the film Bessie and was nominated for Primetime Emmy Award. Outside of working in a Hollywood set, she released a couple of books under her name. Even though we don’t see her anymore on our screen, she is pretty much not in any harm’s way of going into bankruptcy anytime soon.
