Elisabeth Shue
You will probably remember Elisabeth Shue as Ali in the 1984 classic The Karate Kid. She rose to fame in the 1980s, appearing in Adventures in Babysitting (1987) and Cocktail (1988). She was also part of the second and third installment of Back to the Future franchise as Jennifer Parker. In May 1990, Shue first appeared on a Broadway show——America Abroad Abroad at Lincoln Center. After she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress in the 1995 for Leaving Las Vegas, in which she co-operated with Nicolas Cage, her career has flourished. In this film, she broke through the previous role restrictions and played a prostitute for the first time.
There was never an era that Shue didn’t work, from the 80s to 90s until today, she is still busy with her career. She even receives a lot of accolades, receiving acting awards and nominations from prestigious awards giving body, like Academy Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA. She also has several TV and movie credits coming this year.
