Another famous female personality is Meredith Baxter, who is remarkable for her roles in Family and Family Ties. Hailing from California, she was born to a radio announcer and a director/producer. Her parents’ occupation may have influenced her to choose a career in show business. Baxter got her start in the ’70s sitcom Bridget Loves Bernie. While the show was canceled early after its air, it is where she was introduced to the ins and outs of Hollywood.

Outside Family and Family Ties, she appeared in television commercials, including an ad for Garden State Life Insurance Company. She also briefly worked as a host in Today, a spokesperson for Consumer Cellular, and as a guest speaker at National University, where she was awarded an honorary doctorate. In 2011, Baxter published her memoir titled Untied, which landed the New York Times bestseller list.
