Sir Anthony Hopkins is a well-established actor, director, film producer, and composer. With multiple acting accolades given to his credit, Hopkins was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his achievements and services in arts. Unknown to many, the actor had his humble beginnings in theater doing Shakespeare plays. In the 1970s, he gained recognition in films and eventually played his iconic role as Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs.

Enjoying the lucrative fruits of his career, Hopkins reportedly bought his trophy house in Malibu in 2001 for $3,795,000. Lush lawns and dense thickets surround the haven-like 4,000 square-foot abodes. It also includes a spa, pool house, barbecue area, and outdoor kitchen. The luxurious main house has a spacious living area with a stone fireplace, four bedrooms and bathrooms, and a sauna in the main suite. A little more than a year ago, however, Anthony sold the property for $10.5 million.
