A home health aide cares for people who have disabilities, chronic illnesses, cognitive impairments, or age-related problems, and people who have the need or desire to still live in their own home. Unlike personal care aides, home health aides provide medical services such as giving medication, and checking vital signs like pulse and respiration. If needed, they also change bandages and help with simple exercises. This job only requires a high school diploma as a qualification. Note that this job will also entail more menial jobs like sweeping the flooring and washing clothes for patients.

They also administer patient care, from providing medicines to bathing them. The average annual salary of home health aides is $25,280 and there’s a predicted demand for more than 300,000 new workers by 2028. Since they provide such meticulous care to their patients, most are often treated by their clients as an extended part of their family.
