DUSTIN HOFFMAN

Dustin Hoffman rose to prominence for his versatile acting. He could play almost any character, from the villain to an emotionally vulnerable lead character. Robert De Niro himself gave him credit for being an actor with ‘everyman’s face’ that embodies the ‘heartbreakingly human’. Hoffman dreamed of becoming a pianist in the early years, but gave up for lack of talent. He later switched to acting. Hoffman had been struggling in various small roles in the early ten years of his acting career. He acted in theaters, appeared in commercials, and had walk-on roles in movies.

The turning point appeared in 1967. Hoffman starred in the film ‘The Graduate’ and was nominated for an Oscar. Since then, luck came, he starred in films like Midnight Cowboy, Little Big Man, Papillon and other famous works. In 1979, Hoffman won the Oscar for ‘Kramer vs. Kramer’. Hoffman’s other well-known works include: Rain Man, All the President’s Men, Death of a Salesman, Hook, etc. At 83, Hoffman is still active in the industry.
