SISSY SPACEK
Sissy Spacek tried her luck in the entertainment business when she’s only 18 years old. She aspired to be a famous singer at the time, recording a single called John, You Went Too Far This Time, but singing might not be for her. Her record label dropped her, and so she set her eye in another field, acting, where she finally found the success she’s looking for. Sissy began her professional acting career in the early ‘70s, securing an extra role in Andy Warhol’s 1971 movie Women in Revolt.
After five years in the 1976 hit horror film Carrie, she started to rise to prominence, which also earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination. With the degree of her success, Sissy got back to recording and finally made it this time. Her song for the Coal Miner’s Daughter soundtrack album took the number two spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart. She even got a Grammy nomination and released a studio album, making her wish come true.
