KRISTY MCNICHOL
Kristy McNichol is the most famous child star in the 1970s. At the age of 14, she starred as Letitia “Buddy” Lawrence in the TV series Family. She won the 1977 and 1979 Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress because of this series. In 1978, Kristy McNichol entered the music industry and recorded the albums Kristy and Jimmy McNichol, among which the single Page by Page ranked highest on the Billboard. She has also appeared on talk shows, such as Mike Douglas Show and Dinah at that time.
Kristy McNichol’s film career began in 1977, but her first film was cut back. The 1980 film Little Darlings earned her praise from film critics. The 1981 movie Only When I Laugh won her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress, when McNichol was only 19 years old.
