Priscilla Barnes was born in 1954. Barnes first worked as a waitress and dancer when she relocated to San Diego after graduating from High School. Her break came when Bob Hope saw her in a fashion show, he invited her to join his troupe for a performance in Washington in 1973. After that, she moved to Los Angeles to venture into the show business. Barnes began to learn acting skills from a professional coach in 1976. This coach also has some students you may have heard of, such as Tom Selleck and Catherine Bach.

In 1981, Barns ushered in a breakthrough in her career. At first, she played Terri Alden in the ABC sitcom Three’s Company as a substitute actor for Suzanne Somers. While her performance was recognized by the public, so that she played this role regularly until the show ended in 1984. In the past few years, Barnes has still appeared on TV screens. In 2014, Barnes played Magda Andel, a mother in the comedy Jane The Virgin. This drama lasted 5 seasons and ended in 2019.
